Gareth Bale has signed a new deal at Real Madrid, keeping him at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2022. The 27-year-old Welshman - who signed for Madrid in 2013 - has joined the likes of Lucas Vazquez, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in agreeing a new deal at the club.
Madrid have confirmed that Bale, who has won two Champions League titles since his world-record-breaking transfer to the Spanish capital, will discuss his contract extension during a press conference on Monday (31 October).
Real Madrid CF and Gareth Bale have agreed to the extension of the players contract, which is linked to the club until 30 June 2022, a statement from the club read. On Monday, at 13:30, Gareth Bale will appear before the media in the room press [at] the Bernabeu.
Despite the success he has enjoyed in Madrid, Bale has been consistently linked with moves back to the Premier League in recent years, with Manchester United said to have been among the interested parties.
United were known to be interested in Bale prior to the forward moving from Tottenham Hotspur to La Liga three years ago. And it was recently suggested that United were prepared to pay in excess of £100m ($121.9m) for Bales services, according to The Independent.
However, Bale has seemingly ended the speculation regarding his future by committing himself to Madrid for the next six years.
