Renault's Small Car XBA (Kayou) Caught on Camera Ahead of Launch; Everything You Need to Know [PHOTOS]

Renault's XBA small car has been spotted testing in Chennai, ahead of its scheduled global launch on 20 May. Renault Group Chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn will be present during the launch.

In the latest spy shots of Renault XBA aka Kayou, the car is seen hiding under significant amount of camouflage; however, the images give a hint about the body colour of the model, as the front part of the test mule shows red colour .Besides this, the prototype in the picture also shows the tail lights cluster of the XBA.

Renault XBA aka Kayou, the entry level car of the French auto maker is based on CMF-A (Common Module Family – Affordable) and is likely to be priced below ₹4 lakh. Under the hood, XBA will be packing 800cc petrol engine and is expected to be offered in four variants. Kayou will be positioned to challenge Maruti's Alto. 

To be produced at Renault-Nissan Oragadam plant in Chennai, the upcoming small car is also rumoured to get AMT variant in India along with the manual version. If this rings true, Kayuo will be Renault's' first AMT offering in the country.

Meanwhile, Renault has commenced the promotional campaign for its soon-to-be-launched XBA and released a video titled '#LiveforMore'.
