French auto-maker Renault is leaving no stones unturned in its effort to grab a larger pie in the Indian market. The company that recently launched its MPV Lodgy in India will soon be releasing its small car XBA in the market.
A report of Indian Autos Blog said Renault will be launching XBA, a global car in India soon. However, the report did not specify the exact time frame of the launch. A previous report had read that the Renault XBA will be here in India by December this year. Now it looks like the model could be here in the Indian market sooner than expected.
Renault XBA will be a model based on CMF-A (Common Module Family – Affordable). Under the hood, Renault's small car is expected to pack 800cc petrol engine coupled with an automated or manual transmission.
Tipped to be priced sub-₹4 lakh brackets, XBA will rival Maruti Suzuki Alto and Hyundai Eon in India. The previous spy shots have shown us the model wearing single wiper blade for front windshield and outdated rear-view mirrors.
Renault recently expanded its portfolio in India with Lpodgy MPV. Offered only in diesel engine, Renalut Lodgy is powered by 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine, which is tuned to churn out two states of tunes – 85PS and 110PS. Renault Lodgy MPV is available in seven variants – four in 85PS and three in 110PS.
