French auto maker Renault may have revealed its new entry level car Kwid only recently, but rumour mills have already started spinning stories about its features.
Team BHP reports that the Renault Kwid, which will be powered by a 800cc engine, would generate a power of 57bhp. The interiors of the model have been designed by an Indian.
The report adds that after the launch of the petrol variant of the new Kwid, the entry level car could also get a diesel engine and a bigger petrol engine in the future.
Unveiled on 20 May in Chennai, India, the Renault Kwid is scheduled to hit dealer showrooms during the festive season this year with a price tag between ₹3 lakh and ₹4 lakh.
Based on the all-new platform CMF-A, the model will rival Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon in the Indian market. The car is expected to get features like optional air bags, Media Nav multimedia and navigation system with Bluetooth connectivity.
Earlier reports had also said that the Renault Kwid will get AMT in India as there is an increasing demand for AMT models in the country.
