The main topic in the auto world now is French auto-maker Renault's newest addition to its product portfolio, Kwid. The car, which received a global unveiling in Chennai on 20 May, will make its India debut by November this year.
The latest tips that is coming from the folks at Indian Autos blog is that the new small car from the Renault stable is also likely to get more engine variants in the future. Current engine line-up of Kwid includes 800cc petrol engine.
However, reports say that the possibility of a diesel engine does not stand any chance. We also hear that Renault is also considering AMT variant for Kwid in the Indian market.
Underpinning all-new small platform – the CMF-A, Renault Kwid is designed to take on the likes of Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon in India. The car is expected to get features like optional air bags, Media Nav multimedia and navigation system with Bluetooth connectivity.
In India, the new Kwid will be priced in the range of ₹3 lakh to ₹4 lakh and will be produced at the Renault Nissan India plant in Oragadam, Chennai.
