French auto maker Renault is expected to enter the MPV segment in India with its Lodgy around March this year.
Auto enthusiasts in the country have already gotten a clear picture of this Lodgy MPV as the car has been making numerous appearances on the web through spy shots and reports, and the latest one being the official image on the company website.
Now ahead of its expected launch in the country, more details have surfaced on the web about Renault's upcoming MPV Lodgy. A recent report of CarDekho, citing Sumit Sawhney, MD and CEO, Renault India, reveals that the company will be launching both Lodgy and its top-end variant Stepway in India together.
The Stepway variant of Lodgy is expected to pack features like skid-plates at the front and rear end, side body cladding , rear parking sensors and chrome grille with the 'Logdy' badging.
As far as the engine specifications of the MPV is concerned, reports indicate 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine in two states of tune -- 85PS and 110PS -- and there are also rumours that 1.6-litre petrol engine of the Duster could also find its way to the Indian market. Talking of the features, Lodgy is expected to get touchscreen infotainment system, three-spoke steering wheel, dual-tone dashboard and centre armrest for rear passengers.
To be manufactured at Renault-Nissan plant in Oragadam, Chennai, Lodgy MPV, is likely to get a price tag in the range of ₹8- ₹11 lakh in India. Lodgy MPV will mainly rival Honda Mobilio. Besides this, the model will also be competing with Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Chevrolet Enjoy and new Datusn Go+.
