Unveiled at the recent Star Guild Awards Show, Renault Lodgy, the French maker's upcoming MPV has been spied undergoing testing in the country once again ahead of its India debut.
Lodgy MPV, which is believed to be getting the final touch before its entry into the Indian market was caught on camera by CarWale on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Underneath the camouflage, the body works of the Lodgy looks production ready and this particular prototype is believed to bet the Lodgy Stepway variant, which is the top-of-the-line variant of the MPV.
In India, Renault is expected to launch the Stepway variant. The model is expected to hit the market with skid-plates at the front and rear end, side body cladding , rear parking sensors and chrome grille with the 'Logdy' badging.
To be manufactured at Renault-Nissan plant in Oragadam, Chennai, Lodgy MPV, the company's answer to Honda Mobilio is expected to hit Indian showrooms by March this year.
The powerplant of the MPV is yet to be known, however, the rumours doing the rounds on the web suggest 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine in two states of tune -- 85PS and 110PS under the hood. Other features expected are touchscreen infotainment system, three-spoke steering wheel, dual-tone dashboard and centre armrest for rear passengers.
In India, Lodgy will also rival Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova, Chevrolet Enjoy and new Datusn Go+. From what we have heard so far, Renault Lodgy is likely to get a price tag in the range of ₹8 - ₹11 lakh in India.
