Auto enthusiasts in India have heard plenty about the upcoming Honda Mobilio rival from the house of Renault dubbed Lodgy. Lodgy, the latest in the French automaker's India portfolio is all set to hit the showrooms by April.

Although the exact launch details of the Lodgy is yet to be made public, the rumours that are swirling on the web suggest that Renault will pull the wraps off its much awaited MPV by March end or early April. Just recently, the company released the first image of India-bound Lodgy, giving the auto lovers in the country an early glimpse of the model before its arrival.

For Renault, the new Lodgy MPV is crucial in the market as the company hopes to expand its foot-hold in the country. Lodgy, a model which is already being sold in few international markets will be coming to India with a style and design borrowed from its global counterparts.

Under the hood, Renault Lodgy is likely to get 1.5-litre diesel engine works in Duster and 1.5-litre petrol mill. Renault is also expected to launch the Stepway variant of Lodgy in India with features like skid-plates at the front and rear end, side body cladding, rear parking sensors and chrome grille with the 'Logdy' badging.

Inside the cabin, the Lodgy is expected to get a touchscreen infotainment system, three-spoke steering wheel, dual-tone dashboard and centre armrest for rear passengers. Once it hits the market, Lodgy will take on the likes of Honda Mobilio, Maruti Ertiga and Chevrolet Enjoy and is likely to be priced the range of ₹8- ₹11 lakh.
