The bookings for Renault's much-awaited Lodgy MPV has opened in India, with a down payment of Rs 5,0000, indicating that the model could make its entry into the burgeoning MPV segment any time soon.
Renault Lodgy is poised to enter the market against Honda Mobilio and other models in the MPV segment in April, and the dealers of the company have already started accepting bookings for the soon-to-be-launched MPV model, according to Indian Autos Blog.
Under the hood, Lodgy will get power form a 1.5-litre dCi four-cylinder diesel engine that can churn out 85 PS and 110 PS of power outputs and is expected to give return of 22kmpl for 85PS and 20kmpl for 110Ps engine. While the 85PS will come mated to a 5-speed transmission, the 110 PS will get 6-speed gearbox.
In terms of dimensions, Lodgy MPV measures 4,498 mm in length, 1,751 mm in width, 1,697 mm in height, and comes with a wheelbase of 2,810 mm. The model will be offered in 7 seater and 8 seater variants and is expected to fall in the price range of ₹8- ₹11 lakh.
As for features, Lodgy is expected to get steering-mounted controls, touchscreen infotainment system with USB, AUX connectivity and rear view camera with reverse parking sensors. The interior of Lodgy will get dual-tone finish with piano-black centre console.
When launched, Lodgy will rival Honda Mobilio, Maruti Ertiga and Chevrolet Enjoy in the Indian market.
