On the safety front, the new Duster packs Dual Airbags ABS & EBD, Rear Wiper and Defogger. Under the hood, it offers 1.5 liter four cylinder diesel engine, which can churn out a power of 85 PS and a peak torque of 200 Nm. The engine comes coupled to 5 speed manual gearbox and the other notable features of the vehicle include front Fog Lamps and keyless entry.
The new edition Duster is being offered at an EMI of ₹8,400 with an additional 2 years warranty and free 4 years roadside assistance.
Duster, the fortune changer of Renault in the domestic market, has been posting high sales since its foray into the Indian SUV segment. However, the car is facing fierce competition in the market from Ford's EcoSport and Nissan's Terrano. To keep up with the competition, Renault is likely to launch Duster 4×4 in the subcontinent market by the end of this year.
Globally, Renault Duster 4×4 is sold with petrol and diesel engines. While the diesel model is powered by K9K 1.5-liter four cylinder 8-valve diesel engine, which can generate a power of 107 hp and peak torque of 240 Nm, the petrol version comes with 1.6 liter four cylinder engine. The petrol model offers max power of 105 hp and peak torque of 148 Nm and both the engines come mated to six speed manual gearbox.
Earlier the company had launched "Renault Duster Adventure," in India. The SUV accommodates a slew of features like smoked headlamps, door side sill, wheel arch cladding, new 16-inch alloy wheels and metal-finish grab handle. Inside, the Duster Adventure packs piano black finish centre console and steering, Lime green seat fabric upholstery and fabric insert on the doors.
On the mechanical front, the vehicle comes with the same 1.5 litre, K9K, turbo diesel engine, which powers Renault Duster RxL variant. The engine can churn out a power of 110 PS @ 3,900 rpm and peak torque of 248 Nm @ 2,250 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Besides this, it also includes features like USB port, four speakers, steering mounted controls, dual front airbags, ABS, EBD and Brake Assist.
In India, Renault currently sells five models - the Pulse, Scala, Duster, Fluence and the Koleos. Earlier last week, the company had its 'Round the Clock' initiative which kept all the Renault showrooms opened round the clock.
