A new image of Renault's much anticipated small car Kwid has hit the web ahead of its possible September launch in the country.
In the latest image by IndianCar Bikes, the Renault Kwid is seen being loaded onto a truck before making its way to the dealership of the company. According to the publisher, the spotted vehicle is the top-end variant of Kwid.
The model, which has been caught on camera numerous times in its disguised as well as undisguised avatars, seems to be inching closer to its release date in the country. Although the exact launch date of Kwid has not been made public yet, the rumours doing the rounds on the web indicate a September launch. Lending credence to this, the dealers of the French auto maker have also commenced the bookings for its small car Kwid against a down payment of Rs 25,000.
Renault Kwid, the small car with SUV-like design, will be priced between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 4 lakh. Under the bonnet, Kwid will get 800 cc three-cylinder petrol mills that are expected to churn out 57bhp power and the transmission will be taken care of by either a five-speed gearbox or AMT. The Kwid is expected to deliver the best-in-class fuel efficiency and have a ground clearance of 180mm.
Built on Renault-Nissan's CMF-A modular platform, Kwid hatchback's features list will include the segment's first ever touchscreen Media-Nav Navigation System with a seven-inch display, digital instrument console, alloy wheels, chrome door handles, chrome touched tail lights, roof rails and side body cladding.
