Kwid is the new most fuel-efficient petrol car in the country with the ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 25.17kmpl. The Kwid is powered by a 799cc three-cylinder petrol motor, which is tuned to churn out 53bhp at 5,678rpm and a peak torque of 72Nm at 4,386rpm mated five-speed manual gearbox. 2. Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 (24.07kmpl)
Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 returns ARAI claimed fuel efficiency of 24.07kmpl. The car is powered by 1.0-litre K-Next petrol engine that develops 67bhp at 6,000rpm and 90Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and AMT. In both transmission, the car returns identical fuel efficiency. The car has been priced at Rs 3.23 lakh to Rs 4.05lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
3. Tata GenX Nano (23.6kmpl)
The GenX Nano returns 23.6kmpl in its manual transmission version. The car is powered by a 624cc, two-cylinder petrol engine producing 37.5bhp of power and 51Nm torque mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The AMT gearbox version of the car returns 21.9kmpl. The GenX Nano is priced from Rs 1.99 lakh to 2.91 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
