French auto maker Renault's small car Kwid is one of the most awaited launches this year. With the possible launch of Renault just around the corner, more details about the car have surfaced online, giving the auto enthusiasts a clear idea of what to expect on the arrival of Alto rival.
Renault Kwid, the SUV-like designed small car from the French car maker's stable, is expected to reach the showrooms in a couple of weeks. The bookings for Kwid are already underway against a down payment of Rs 25,000 and the model will be squared off against Maruti Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon. Kwid is expected to come to the market with all the bells and whistles.
Now, the auto buffs at Motoroids -- who have managed to get information on the engine and other details of the Kwid -- reveal that Renault's small car will offer the best-in class mileage of 25kmpl, which is higher than its rivals Maruti Alto 800's 21.38 kmpl and Hyundai Eon's 21.1 kmpl.
Renault Kwid will draw its power from an all-new, 800cc, BR-8, DOHC, 3 cylinders engine, which is tuned to dish out a power of 57bhp and a peak torque of 74Nm. The transmission will be taken care of by either a five-speed gearbox or AMT. Kwid has a ground clearance of 180mm and measures 3.68 meters long and 1.58 meters wide.
Built on Renault-Nissan's CMF-A modular platform, Kwid hatchback's features list will include the segment's first ever touchscreen Media-Nav Navigation System with a seven-inch display, digital instrument console, alloy wheels, chrome door handles, chrome touched tail lights, roof rails and side body cladding.
Renault Kwid will be priced between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 4 lakh.
