French car-maker Renault has hiked the prices of its hot-selling model, the Kwid, in India. The Kwid prices have gone up by Rs. 9,646. This is the second price hike of the Kwid since its launch in September last year.
The company had previously increased the prices of the Kwid in January by up to Rs. 11,000. As per the revised price list, the Kwid, the fast-selling model of the company, now goes for a price of Rs. 2,64,734 for the standard variant. The Kwid top-end variants RXT (O) now costs Rs. 3,73,776, with a difference of Rs. 9,646 from the previous Rs. 3,64,130.
The Kwid, was originally launched in the country with a 0.8 litre engine and it is just joined by a new powerful avatar, the Kwid 1.0 litre. The Kwid in India has already raked in over 1.65 lakh bookings and the company is looking to fulfil 1 lakh order in the country soon.
The Kwid, a hatchback with SUV-stance is powered by a 799cc three-cylinder petrol motor, which is tuned to churn out 53bhp at 5,678rpm and a peak torque of 72Nm at 4,386rpm, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The car also returns ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of 25.17kmpl. On the other hand, the 1.0 litre variants of the model gets 999cc 3-cylinder engine that can churn out 67bhp of power at 5500rpm and 91Nm of torque at 4250rpm. The Kwid 1.0 litre claims to deliver a mileage of 23.01 kmpl.
The Kwid 1.0 litre, which comes with new powerful 1.0L SCe engine, has been priced at Rs. 3.83 lakh (ex-showroom).
