French car-manufacturer Renault announced up to 3% hike in prices of its entire car range from 1 January. As per the announcement, the company increased the prices of its vehicles. The most-sought-after model in the line-up, the Kwid, is now costlier by Rs 10,999 in Delhi.
The top-end variant, Kwid RXT Driver Airbag (O), was selling at Rs 3,53,131 in 2015 and the new price is Rs 3,64,130 with the hike of Rs 10,999. The entry-level standard model that was sold at Rs 2,56,968 in 2015 is now priced Rs 2,59,968 with a difference of Rs 3,000.

The best car launched by Renault in India, the Kwid has already received 70,000 bookings, and its waiting averages over six months. The Kwid hatchback is powered by a 799cc three-cylinder petrol motor, which is tuned to churn out 53bhp at 5,678rpm and a peak torque of 72Nm at 4,386rpm, mated a five-speed manual gearbox. The car also returns ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of 25.17kmpl, which makes it the most fuel-efficient petrol car in the country.
In an attempt to keep the Kwid fresh and keep up the momentum, Renault is expected to launch the hatchback in 1.0-litre engine and AMT gear options in 2016. The updated model is expected at the Auto Expo 2016.
