Renault India has introduced alloy wheels as an option to the Kwid hatchback range. The dark-themed alloy wheel design bears close resemblance to the alloy wheels offered with the newly-launched Renault Duster facelift. Renault dealers have confirmed to International Business Times, India, that the alloy wheels are available across all variants as optional extra and priced nearly Rs. 30,000.
Apart from alloy wheels, Renault India has annother array of accessories for the Kwid. This includes illuminated sill plates, floor mats, steering wheel cover, chrome touches on fog lamp bezel, front grille, side cladding and roof rails.
The hatchback launched in September 2015 now has over 1.25 lakh bookings and company has increased its production to reduce the waiting period. Priced in the range of Rs. 2.62 lakh to Rs. 3.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Kwid is powered by a 799cc three-cylinder petrol motor, which is tuned to churn out 53bhp at 5,678rpm and a peak torque of 72Nm at 4,386rpm mated a five-speed manual gearbox.
Renault is planning to launch Kwid with a 1,000cc engine soon. The 1.0-litre model is expected to come with better safety features, and the alloy wheels may come as standard. Renault is currently offering an optional single airbag only in the top-end RxT variant. The additions will invite a hike in price and the 1.0-litre engine model prices are expected to start at Rs. 3.5 lakh.
