French car manufacturer Renault had a dream year in 2015, with the auto major posting a growth of 20% in car sales in India compared with the previous year. The new hatchback, Kwid, which cracked into the top ten best selling cars list in December 2015, has been instrumental in boosting the company's sales.
To continue the momentum, Renault India is coming up with new models and features. The Kwid hatchback with 1.0-litre and AMT transmission had been touted for the Auto Expo 2016. A report in the Economic Times says the company will also showcase Kwid Racer and Climber variants. Although at this point of time other details about the new variants are not known, reports suggest that Kwid racer could be a sporty variant of the model, with accessories like sporty alloys and graphics. On the other hand, Kwid Climber, which is likely to be an off-roader, could get roof rails, skid plates and diffuser.
Along with the Kwid models, Renault will showcase facelifted version of the Duster SUV. 2016 duster facelift will be in line with the Brazilian-spec model that comes with new single-slate grille, new headlamp cluster and new alloy wheels, with updated rear and front bumpers. Inside the cabin, reports indicate the SUV is likely to accommodate new features like MediaNAV System with multimedia. The new Duster will also come with the option of AMT gearbox and a sports version will be on display, according to the ET report.
Other important Renault cars on display are Eolab, a plug-in hybrid, special edition of the Lodgy MPV and Renault's F1 Racing RS01 car.
