French auto maker Renault pulled the wraps off its much-awaited Kwid small car in India on 24 September (Thursday).
The Kwid, a much-awaited car of the year, comes with a stunning price tag starting at Rs 2.56 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Launched in four variants -- Standard, RxE, RxL and RxT -- the Renault Kwid is powered by a 799cc 3-cylinder petrol motor, which is tuned to churn out 54PS and a peak torque of 72Nm with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Kwid is the first car to be built on the CMF-A platform and offers best-in-class mileage at 25.17kmpl.
Bookings for the Renault Kwid are underway in the country for a down payment of Rs 5,000; it can also be booked through the new Kwid App, which is available for download on Google play store.
Renault will begin the delivery of the Kwid during the festive season, starting from October.
In terms of dimensions, the Renault Kwid measures 3679mm in length, 1579mm in height and 1471mm in width. It has a wheelbase of 2422mm with class leading ground clearance of 180 mm and a boot capacity of 300 litres.
To be pitted against the Maruti Alto and the Hyundai Eon, the Renault Kwid comes with the segment's first ever touchscreen Media-Nav Navigation System, digital instrument console, chrome touched tail lights and side body cladding.
