Kwid, the much-awaited small car from Renault, has made an appearance in a new commercial with a 'coming soon' tag, indicating that the arrival of the model is not too far.
The new TVC of Renault, starring the brand's new face Ranbir Kapoor, features models like Duster, Lodgy and Fluence. Kwid can be seen at the end of the TVC, which also features A R Rahman's latest composition Re Re Re Raftaar for Renault.
Built on Renault-Nissan's CMF-A modular platform, Renault Kwid is expected to go on sale in India by the end of September. Unveiled in May, Kwid will be pegged at a price point ranging from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 4 lakh.
Renault's Kwid is currently in its final stages of testing in the country, and the spy photographers managed to capture the top and base variants of the Kwid recently.
The power line-up of Renault Kwid will include 800 cc three-cylinder petrol mills, which is expected to churn out 57bhp power. The transmission in Kwid is expected to be taken care of by either a five-speed gearbox or AMT. The model promises to deliver best fuel efficiency and has 180mm of ground clearance.
Rumours also have it that the Kwid will also get a bigger 1.0 litre petrol engine with both manual and automated manual transmission (AMT) options.
As for features, the Kwid, a small car designed like an SUV, is likely to house the segment's first touchscreen Media-Nav navigation system with a seven-inch display ,digital instrument console, alloy wheels, chrome door handles, chrome touched tail lights, roof rails and side body cladding.
