French auto maker Renault has pulled the wraps off its much-awaited facelifted Duster, indicating its imminent launch in India.
The development comes a few months after Renault's Romanian subsidiary Dacia presented its Duster facelift at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Though the company did not divulge the launch details of the new Renault Duster, speculations are rife that the vehicle would make an appearance at the Indian Auto Expo 2014, scheduled for February.
The latest version of Renault Duster flashes a distinctive look from its predecessor by accommodating a few tweaks in both its interior and exterior styling. It sports a new dual-toned honeycomb grille, restyled headlamps with double optic units and DRL, restyled tail lamps, roof rails, chromed exhaust and new scuff plate.
Inside the cabin, the new Duster hosts features like Cruise Control and Speed Limiter, Rear Park Assist, Electronic Stability Control and Dual Front Airbags. In addition to this, the vehicle also bears a new centre console with Renault's infotainment system. The car will also get a new colour - Cormete Grey.
As far the engine is concerned, the new Duster draws its power from the same 1.5-litre K9K engine and 1.6-litre petrol motor. However, reports suggested the facelifted Duster is also likely to get a new 1.2-litre TCe turbocharged petrol engine, which would be mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Considering the massive success achieved by the current model of Duster, Renault is expected to have pinned high hopes on the Duster facelift. Duster has witnessed record sales in India, ever since its entry into the market. The new Duster is expected to carry a higher price tag than the current model.
