If latest reports on the web are anything to go by, French automaker Renault is working on the facelifted avatar of its popular Duster and the new model will be equipped with automatic gearbox.
The competition in the SUV segment in India is heating up. The South Korean auto major Hyundai recently launched its new Creta and in about a week from now, Maruti Suzuki will also roll out its new crossover S-Cross.
Now, a report by Motoring world states that Renault is also gearing up to introduce a facelift of its Duster SUV, which is now being hit by the fast-paced changes in its segment.
The interesting part of the new Renault Duster is reportedly the 6-speed dual clutch transmission, called the EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch). Other changes are likely to be confined to visual modifications. The facelifted Duster is likely to boast smoked headlamps and new body cladding. Under the hood, the Duster will get the same 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine that can churn out out 108 BHP.
The new Duster is likely to be launched in India during the festive season this year.
