French auto maker Renault launched the new variant of its popular SUV Duster in India with the price tag starting at ₹11.89 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Dubbed AWD, the All Wheel Drive Duster comes with Renault's Drive Technology, which gives the car shift-by-fly options of 2WD, AUTO & 4WD.
The new Duster AWD draws power from the 1.5 dCi THP diesel engine, which can churn out a power of 110PS @4,000RPM and peak torque of 245NM @1,750rpm, promising to offer a fuel efficiency of 19.72km/l. The engine comes mated to 6-speed manual transmission.
From a visual stand point, the new Duster AWD looks just like the existing Duster, but the company has given a light touch-up to the new Duster with the smoked headlamps, new alloy wheels and AWD decals on the body.
Inside the cabin, Renault Duster AWD features multi-information display panel, new upholstery, sporty 3-spoke steering wheel and rear-seat centre arm rest.
The SUV comes fitted with safety features like Electronic Stability programme (ESP), Anti-Skid Resistance (ASR), Hill Start-Assist and cruise control. There are also other safety features like ABS with EBD and brake assist, dual front airbags, rear defogger and a rear wiper.
It is available in seven body colours - amazon green, pearl galaxy black, pearl supreme white, metallic woodland brown, metallic graphite grey and metallic moonlight silver.
The AWD RxL variant gets a price tag of ₹11.89 lakh and the top-of-the-line RxZ variant comes for ₹12.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Duster AWD will compete with Mahindra Scorpio 4×4 and Tata Safari Storme 4×4 in India and will be sold alongside the existing model.
Renault will also be bringing its MPV Lodgy to India sometime next year. The vehicle has been spotted on test in the country numerous times and is likely to get power from 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine in India and is expected to give two states of tune.
