The much awaited Renault Duster 4X4 is reportedly ready to set foot in India in October 2014, claims a new report.
The Renault Duster 4X4, a new variant of iconic SUV Duster, which was seen testing in the country a year ago will reportedly reach Indian shores around this festive season, reported ZigWheels. Going by the report, the French maker's upcoming offering will initially hit the domestic market with 110PS diesel engine coupled to 6-speed manual gearbox and the SUV maker is also said to be contemplating on introducing the Automatic variant of the same.
The Renault Duster 4x4 or 4WD is not too different from the 2WD model. However, the makers are in hope that the 4x4 version will also do well in the domestic market like the 2WD Duster. In India, 4WD version of Duster might come with 4WD badges, body cladding and more edgy and aggressive interiors.
Globally, Renault Duster 4×4 is sold with petrol and diesel engines. While the diesel model is powered by K9K 1.5-liter four cylinder 8-valve diesel engine, which can generate a power of 107 hp and peak torque of 240 Nm, the petrol version comes with 1.6 liter four cylinder engine. The petrol model offers max power of 105 hp and peak torque of 148 Nm and both the engines come mated to six speed manual gearbox.
Duster, Renault's game changer in the country has been etching phenomenal success in Indian market since its entry. Even though the competition in the SUV segment is going strong by the day, it appears like the sale of Duster is not affected much. The best example of this is the warm response given by the auto lovers in the country to the recently launched Renault's Duster limited edition.
Priced at ₹9.9 lakh, the new limited edition of Duster comes packed with Infotainment System with Steering Mounted Controls and Bluetooth Telephony and USB. On the safety front, the new Duster packs Dual Airbags ABS & EBD, Rear Wiper and Defogger. Under the hood, it offers 1.5 liter four cylinder diesel engine, which can churn out a power of 85 PS and a peak torque of 200 Nm. The engine comes coupled to 5 speed manual gearbox and the other notable features of the vehicle include front Fog Lamps and keyless entry.
The company also launched "Renault Duster Adventure," in India. The SUV accommodates a slew of features like smoked headlamps, door side sill, wheel arch cladding, new 16-inch alloy wheels and metal-finish grab handle. Inside, the Duster Adventure packs piano black finish centre console and steering, Lime green seat fabric upholstery and fabric insert on the doors.
