Sivakarthikeyan's popularity and reach have been constantly improving with his films. His latest movie, "Remo", seems to be ready to take him to the next level as a bankable star as the pre-release business of the flick has met with stupendous success.
The pre-release business of "Remo" was formally started on Aug. 2 with the makers announcing that the interested parties can make their bids for various rights of the film (theatrical, music and satellite rights).
The latest to hear about its pre-release business is that the makers have successfully sold the Tamil Nadu distribution rights to different parties. The areas are mainly divided into seven regions - Chennai city, Coimbatore, Chengalpet, Madurai, TT (Trichy-Thanjavur), TK (Tirunelveli-Kanyakumari) and Salem.
The makers have reportedly made a record amount from the sales of the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights. Some reports claim that the rights are valued at Rs. 32 crore. But the makers are yet to reveal the official number.
"Sivakarthikeyan's market is growing at a rapid pace. Thanks to his consistent performance at the box office, which is helping him to establish his market," a trade tracker says about the actor's increasing popularity. Industry insiders feel that the release plans of "Remo" have also played a vital role in gaining distributor's confidence on the film's prospects at the box office.
"Remo" will be released during the Navaratri holiday weekend. Hence, people are expecting a good turnout of the audience at theatres. As a result, the distributors have shown interest in acquiring its rights.
The upcoming Tamil film is a romantic comedy written and directed by Bhagyaraj Kannan. Arun, Keerthy Suresh, Satish, KS Ravikumar, Yogi Babu and others are in the cast.
Meanwhile, Shibu Thameens has acquired the Kerala distribution rights for an undisclosed price.
