Sivakarthikeyan's Remo has emerged victorious at the Chennai box office. In fact, the Tamil movie has broken several records and now is set to surpass the business of Ajith's Vedalam and Jayam Ravi's Thani Oruvan in the capital city of Tamil Nadu.
After minting Rs 1.71 crore in its first weekend in Chennai, Remo ended its 10-day collection at 4.82 crore. The Dussehra holiday season helped the movie to post a good collection at the Chennai box office.
The industry experts were expecting the business of the film to slow down post second weekend. But its performance proved their predictions wrong as it enjoyed good occupancy rates in theatres. As a result, Remo has now made a collection of Rs 6.46 crore at the Chennai box office in 17 days.
It means Remo is now inches away from surpassing the collections of Ajith's Vedalam, which raked in a little above Rs 6.5 crore in Chennai. Also, the movie is expected to beat the records of Jayam Ravi's Thani Oruvan (Rs 6.67 crore).
However, the release of Deepavali biggies like Karthi's Kaashmora and Dhanush's Kodi this weekend is expected to have a big impact on Remo. Both the latest films will snatch many screens from Sivakarthikeyan's flick.
Nonetheless, trade experts are curiously looking forward to see how Remo will survive in the race. The next major challenge for the film is to beat the record of Kaththi, which minted Rs 7.83 crore.
