Remo was released in over 400 screens in Tamil Nadu. It had a good pre-release talk, which helped the film get a massive response for advance booking. Cashing in on the hype, exhibitors had early morning shows in many centres and this played a major role in its success on the opening day. Generally, they have early morning shows only for the films of A-list actors.

The trade reports say that Remo enjoyed over 70 percent occupancy on the first day and many have declared that it has become the third bigger opener of 2016 after Rajinikanth's Kabali (Rs 21.5 crore)and Vijay's Theri (Rs 13.5 crore). It has reportedly beaten Vikram's Iru Mugan, which had minted Rs 5.5 crore on the first day.

However, the exact collection made by Remo has not been revealed. Some unconfirmed reports say that it has earned over Rs 6 crore. The film has been released big in Kerala and some foreign countries too, where it has made decent collections.

Remo clashed with Vijay Sethupathi's Rekka and Prabhu Deva and Tamannaah Bhatia's Devi. All the three films have garnered good reviews. But it has to be seen how the movies perform in the next few days. The trade experts are predicting all the three flicks will do well, considering a long weekend.

Coming back to Remo, it is a romantic-comedy film, written and directed by Bhagyaraj Kannan and produced by RD Raaja. Sivakarthikeyan's performance and decent story are said to be the highlights of the Tamil flick.
