After months of testing with a limited audience, Reliance Jio finally opened gates to all 4G smartphones to enjoy its high-speed internet for free until Dec. 31, 2016. While several users have already managed to get Jio's welcome offer, which gives free internet data, calls and SMS, some users are still struggling to collect the free Jio SIM due to high demand.
This demand has also created another issue for Jio users, especially those who have been using the unlimited high-speed mobile data since the inception of preview offer. Other than the 4GB daily cap on Jio internet, users are complaining that internet speed has drastically dropped since the time Jio welcomed all users to test its network.
One user, who got the Jio connection with a LYF smartphone a month before the Jio Welcome Offer was introduced at the company's annual general meeting (AGM), experienced a nearly 40 percent drop in speed after being upgraded to the Jio welcome offer.
Another user, who got the complimentary Jio SIM with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, complained of a similar speed issue. Despite that, both users seem happy with the internet speed and the premium Jio apps, which are offered for free until Dec. 31, 2017.
On Twitter, other users have also noted a drop in speed compared to earlier.
But some users have praised Jio for its speeds and expressed joy of using it with great coverage.
