Reliance Jio's 4G Preview offer, which was recently extended to users of multiple brands of 4G-LTE-enabled smartphones, has been lapped up by initial adapters throughout the country who have now voiced their opinion on the high-speed voice and data initiative. The service promises to change the way people interact with each other through voice and data.
Going by initial impressions, it seems that Reliance Jio's 4G still has considerable ground to cover before it reaches its set goal of becoming a world leader with respect to offering high-speed unlimited voice, data and messaging service.
Expressing their opinion on micro-blogging site Twitter, several early adapters have reported nagging activation issues upon availing the free 4G Jio SIM.
Check out some tweets posted by the initial Reliance Jio 4G Preview users. These are the comments people have tweeted to give their opinion in response to a poll opened by The Quint asking for feedback on Reliance Jio's 4G Jio SIM:
At this point in time, it is worth noting that staff at "select" Reliance Digital stores and Mini stores across the country are equipped to generate the Preview offer code from MyJio application in order to active the Jio SIM. This means that all users need to do is, just walk in to a nearest Reliance Digital Centre with a 4G-enabled phone (List of eligible 4G smartphones of major brands) and produce relevant documents to avail a free Jio 4G SIM.
In addition to reports about activation issues, the 4G speeds offered by Reliance Jio 4G Preview initiative are also apparently not up to users' expectations, at least when the views of early adapters are taken into consideration. The tweets given below serve as indicators:
However, there have also been words of appreciation from users of Reliance Jio's 4G Preview.
Reliance Jio, which is the latest buzzword in India, is being eagerly awaited by people across the country. The firm has also come under criticism from already established telcos such as Bharti Airtel and Vodafone (who are members of the Cellular Operators Association of India), which have complained with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), accusing Reliance Jio of choking its members' networks and rolling out full voice and data service under trial offers.
Reliance Jio has denied all allegations levelled by the Cellular Operators Association of India. Reliance Jio 4G service is now expected to be released in India by December.
