The release date of Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan-starrer "Badrinath Ki Dulhania" is out. The movie, which was initially thought to be a sequel, is actually a second installment of "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" franchise.
Alia took to Twitter and revealed the release date of "Badrinath Ki Dulhania." The film will be released on March 10, 2017. The actress chose to reveal the release detail on July 11 as "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" has completed two years today.
Alia first tweeted, "#2YrsOfHSKD!!!!Thank you all for the loveeee well the story changes but the love continues!!! @Varun_dvn @ShashankKhaitan @karanjohar!! [sic]." In her second tweet, she revealed the release date saying, "Anddddd this dulhania is on wheels...catch up with us again on the 10th of March,2017 #BadrinathKiDulhania !!! @Varun_dvn @ShashankKhaitan [sic]."
It was initially believed that "Badrinath Ki Dulhania" will be a sequel to the 2014 film, but Alia had confirmed that it will not be a sequel. "The film is not a sequel, it's not a continuation. It's a franchise. It's a different story, it has another person and dulhania with a common thread that's a love story," she had told PTI.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar, the film had gone on floors on May 5 this year and the first schedule has already been completed. A first look motion poster was released earlier that had left fans excited about the movie. Now fans will eagerly wait for "Badrinath Ki Dulhania" to hit the screens.
