Veteran actress Rekha has given her nod to Abhishek Kapoor's upcoming film "Fitoor."
Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapoor have already been signed for "Fitoor" which is based on Charles Dicken's famous novel "Great Expectations." And now it has come out that Rekha will play a significant role in the film acting as Kaif's aunt.
The 59-year-old's character in the film is said to be inspired from Miss Havisham, the character of an old wealthy spinster from the novel, who is largely seen in grey character.
"Rekha's character is likely to be along the lines of Miss Havisham, an important character in the novel. The original character is that of a wealthy woman who lives in an old, dilapidated mansion with her adopted daughter, whereas in the film, Rekha will play Katrina's aunt,'' a source revealed to Mid Day.
Rekha's role will also have grey shades as she will act the medium via which Kaif and Aditya's love story starts off. The film being an adapted desi version, the "Umrao Jaan" star will play a Begum, while Aditya will be seen in the role a Kashmiri lad Noor and Kaif as his muse will enact a character named Firdaus, reported The Times of India.
