Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha may be coming together for "Namastey England" and the reason is quite simple. Sources say the makers zeroed in on the "Force 2" actress as her films with the "Rustom" star have done well at the box-office.
"After reading the script, the actress (Sonakshi) too has given her nod to the same. The movie will apparently go on floors in the month of August," a source told Absolute India News. Akshay and Sonakshi have together featured in four films – "Rowdy Rathore," "Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty," "Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara" and "Joker."
Part of what the insider said is true; the team plans on beginning the film this August. Director Vipul Shah said the project will roll soon, and added that Akshay will play a character hailing from Punjab.
"We have locked the script for 'Namastey England' and we plan to go on floors in August 2016. Akshay Kumar will essay the character of a guy from Punjab. We plan to wrap up the shoot for the film by December 2016," Catch News quoted him as saying. Contrary to what is being said, "Namastey England" isn't a sequel to "Namastey London" and will have a completely different story.
In other news, Akshay would have started work on it earlier had he not been caught up with the shooting for "2.0." "Rustom," a crime-drama loosely based on real-life events, is another film that is set to open in theatres Aug. 12, the same date when Hrithik Roshan-starrer "Mohenjo Daro" would be out on the big screen.
Sonakshi has an interesting line-up of films; the actress told Press Trust of India that 2016 would be an action-packed year for her. "2016 will be an action-packed year. I am still in talks for some more projects, very soon there will be some announcements made," she added.
