The idea of Salman Khan being an antagonist in "Dhoom 4" must have gotten his fans excited, but their happiness has been cut short by the superstar's latest statement on playing the bad guy on screen. He doesn't want to play a negative role.
"I don't like that genre at all. I don't want to be a villain. I believe in entertaining the audience. I like playing the hero, a good man who's memory people carry back home," he told DNA when asked what he thought about anti-hero roles.
Salman joked that may be he cannot be a good life off-screen, he might as well try to be one on it. He said he believes in giving the youth stories that will help them get stronger from the inside.
So does this mean we can put a lid on all the talks of Salman being the baddie in "Dhoom 4" and "Race 3"? A few days ago, when he was asked about an update on the franchise film, Salman said he had no idea adding that the climax would be way different if he were to star in it.
"If Abhishek and Uday hire all of those people to come and catch me then perhaps I might but then the climax would be very unfair. With me in Dhoom 4, I would not run away or get killed like other people," Catch News quoted the 50-year-old actor as saying.
Trivia
Salman's peers Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have dabbled in the genre. SRK, during the initial few years of his career, went on to do some hard-hitting negative roles in "Darr," "Baazigar," and "Anjaam," which brought him truckloads of awards. However, Shah Rukh soon moved to doing romantic-drama films until "Fan" happened, in which he played a stalker in the latter half of the film. Aamir essayed the role of a magician and a thief in "Dhoom 3" with equal finesse.
