There have been reports suggesting that Spanish giants Real Madrid were interested in acquiring the services of Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who plays for Chelsea. But the star keeper has made it clear that he wants to stay with the Blues and improve upon his game for the next season.
Courtois is one of the best goalkeepers going around in the world football; hence, it comes as no surprise that the La Liga outfit wants the Chelsea man. At present, Real Madrid have a decent keeper in the form of Keylor Navas, but they are looking for a top keeper for the next season, however, they might have to look at other options as Courtois wants to remain a Blues' player.
The Belgian has also spoken to the incoming Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, so he is confident of his Chelsea future, and remains unperturbed with rumours linking him to Real Madrid.
"Yes, I've spoken to him (Conte). We had a good chat." Fox Sports quoted Courtois as saying.
"Of course. There are rumours from the press always popping up. But I'm calm with it. My season has not been the very best like last year, when we won the Premier League. But still, I'm very confident in myself that I will have a good Euros and another good season at Chelsea."
The Belgian has not been at his menacing best this season, as injuries have created problems, sometimes leading to inconsistency as well. But the player wants to focus on performing well in Euro 2016 for Belgium, and come back strong for the next EPL season.
"With injuries, my season has been different with Chelsea and we didn't have the best season. For myself, there were a few goals when I could have done better, but I still made good saves," the Belgium international said.
