Home grown major telecom player, RCom (Reliance Communications) has released the subsidised tariff plans for the new Apple iPhone 6 series smartphones.
The company's official eShop page has listed the zero down-payment options with a fixed monthly subscription for two years, reported Telecom Talk.
RCom Zero Plan's tariff structure includes:
- Zero down-payment
- ₹3099/ ₹3,599 monthly subscription for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus respectively for two-years.
- No limits on Internet data usage, SMS, voice-calls and roaming as well.
This tariff structure is just a teaser from RCom, more details such as international roaming rates, ISD call rates and differential rates for 16GB, 64GB and 128GB models are expected to be revealed after an official announcement. Since the buy button is yet to be activated on the RCom eShop webpage (HERE), it is evident that the final tariff structure is still under work.
Subsidised retailing of smartphones, a norm usually in developed markets like North America, Europe and other select regions, was first introduced in India by RCom last year for iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. Many network carriers shy away due to the tedious process of tracking defaulters in the subcontinent as the country is home to one billion plus population.

Though the offer looks enticing, it has to be noted monthly ₹3,099/₹3,599 subscription translates to ₹74,376 and ₹86,376 in two years, so prospective consumers are advised to take an informed decision based on unlocked devices' prices, before taking a call on the subscribing to the contract.
