The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at 49.5325 rupees and the euro 64.6569 rupees.
The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (January 31, 2012) were 49.6825 rupees and 65.5157 rupees respectively.
Based on the reference rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 77.9493 as against 78.1704 on the previous day (January 31, 2012) and that of Japanese yen is 65.00 as against 65.18 the previous day.
