The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Tuesday fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at 49.9673 rupees and the euro 65.0887 rupees.
The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (January 23, 2012) were 50.2435 rupees and 64.7876 rupees respectively.
Based on the reference rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 77.7441 as against 78.1286 on the previous day (January 23, 2012) and that of Japanese yen is 64.90 as against 65.24 the previous day.
