The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at 50.2890 rupees and the euro 64.6664 rupees.
The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (January 18, 2012) were 50.6655 rupees and 64.6314 rupees respectively.
Based on the reference rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 77.6010 as against 78.4818 on the previous day (January 18, 2012) and that of Japanese yen is 65.53 as against 66.59 the previous day.
