The Reserve Bank of India Monday fixed the reference rate for the U.S. dollar at 53.2975 rupees and the euro 68.9095 rupees.
The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (December 30, 2011) were 53.2660 rupees and 68.9005 rupees respectively.
Based on the reference rate for the U.S. dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 82.6644 as against 82.0989 on the previous day (December 30, 2011) and that of Japanese yen is 69.25 as against 68.68 the previous day.
