The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at 53.3585 rupees and the euro 68.9881 rupees.
The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (December 28, 2011) were 53.2145 rupees and 69.5113 rupees respectively.
Based on the reference rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 82.5082 as against 83.3179 on the previous day (December 28, 2011) and that of Japanese yen is 68.67 as against 68.39 the previous day.
