The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at 53.2145 rupees and the euro 69.5113 rupees.
The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (December 27, 2011) were 52.8945 rupees and 69.1508 rupees respectively.
Based on the reference rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 83.3179 as against 82.7111 on the previous day (December 27, 2011) and that of Japanese yen is 68.39 as against 67.90 the previous day.
