The Reserve Bank of India Tuesday fixed the reference rate for the U.S. dollar at 53.4030 rupees and the euro at 70.4435 rupees.
The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for Monday were 52.4238 rupees and 69.9405 rupees respectively.
Based on the reference rate for the U.S. dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 83.3247 as against 81.9227 on Friday and that of Japanese yen is 68.58 as against 67.52 then.
