The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at 51.7780 rupees and the euro at 69.4246 rupees.
The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (December 7, 2011) were 51.4490 rupees and 69.1235 rupees respectively.
Based on the reference rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 81.3225 as against 80.3788 on the previous day (December 5, 2011) and that of Japanese yen is 66.69 as against 66.19 the previous day.
