The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Tuesday fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at 49.6825 rupees and the euro 65.5157 rupees.

The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (January 30, 2012) were 49.5030 rupees and 65.1882 rupees respectively.

Based on the reference rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 78.1704 as against 77.7395 on the previous day (January 30, 2012) and that of Japanese yen is 65.18 as against 64.57 the previous day.
