The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at 49.9030 rupees and the euro 65.0885 rupees.

The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (March 13, 2012) were 49.8450 rupees and 65.6151 rupees respectively.

Based on the reference rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 78.1481 as against 77.9675 on the previous day (March 13, 2012) and that of Japanese yen is 59.9 as against 60.67 the previous day.
