For the first time, raw photos of fully-developed Xiaomi device (thought to be Mi5) have been leaked online revealing key design features.
Technology blogs Gadgetz Arena has caught hold of Xiaomi Mi5 snapshot, which shows the device featuring physical home button with a metal ring hinting that it houses a fingerprint sensor.
Previously, there was some confusion over the placement of biometric sensors in Xiaomi Mi5. Many reports indicated it might be incorporated in the front panel, while some rumours suggested it may be placed on the back, below the camera module, like Xiaomi's recently-released Redmi Note 3.
Now, the leaked image has given us conclusive evidence to believe that Xiaomi Mi5 will feature fingerprint scanner on the home button like we see in most top-end models such as Samsung Galaxy S6 series and Apple iPhone 6S series.
In the leaked image, we also see that Xiaomi Mi5 will house a speaker at the top centre and front-camera at the right side. And on the right edge, power and volume rockers placed one top of the other for easy access.
The photos also shed light on the material that might be used in Xiaomi Mi5's frame. The shiny metallic chassis indicate the company has utilised high-grade steel.
So far, Xiaomi has confirmed that Mi5 will come packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The mass production of the flagship device is already underway and is slated to be unveiled in February.
The company, in its bid to build buzz around Xiaomi Mi5, is expected to reveal key features in the coming days. Watch this space for more updates.
