It seems another actor from Tollywood (Telugu cinema) is heading to Bollywood.
We all know that Ram Charan Tej (son of actor-turned-politician Chrianjeevi) is making his Hindi debut with "Zanjeer" ("Thoofan" in Telugu). Now, buzz is that "Mass Maharaja" Ravi Teja is all set to debut in Bollywood.
According to reports, the "Balupu" actor has signed a Hindi film directed by Samir Karnik of "Yamla Pagla Deewana" fame.
Confirming the news, Samir told The Times of India, "Yes, I will be working with Ravi Teja in my next film."
"All I can say is that he is playing the lead role in the movie. He is the solo lead and will be playing a crackerjack of a character. We haven't finalised on the details of the film yet. We'll announce more details soon," he added.
The director is said to have liked Ravi Teja's performance in Telugu film, "Vikramarkudu", a blockbuster flick that was remade in different languages including Tamil ("Siruthai"), Kannada ("Veera Madakari") and in Hindi as "Rowdy Rathore." This prompted Samir to cast Ravi in his new directorial venture reportedly titled "Kaur & Singh."
The action-comedy film is about two brothers, and Ravi will play a dual role. One of his roles is that of a conman who invariably gets his good brother into trouble.
Ravi Teja is riding high on the success of his latest Telugu release, "Balupu" ("Arrogance"), directed by Gopichand Malineni. The actor has now joined the league of south Indian stars making an entry into Bollywood.
Tamil actor Dhanush made his debut in Hindi with "Raanjhanaa." The audience appreciated his work and the film went on to become a big hit. Next in line would be Telugu actor Ram Charan Tej, whose Hindi film, "Zanjeer", co-starring Priyanka Chopra is all set to release this September.
