Naga Chaitanya's Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam (Ra Randoi Veduka Chudham/RRVC) has made bigger collection than biopic Sachin: A Billion Dreams (SABD) at the US box office in the first weekend.
Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam is one of the most hyped movies in the career of Naga Chaitanya. Amidst huge hype and expectations, the movie was released in over 100 screens across North America on May 26 and it became biggest release for the actor. The film was premiered in the country a day before its release and it received fantastic response.
Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam collected $ 67,275 at the US box office in the premiere shows on Thursday night. The romantic comedy entertainer became the biggest opener for Naga Chaitanya, beating the records of his previous releases Premam and Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo. A good word of mouth helped the movie go on strength to strength on the following days.
Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam has collected $369,672 (Rs. 2.39 crore) at the US box office in the first weekend and it is the highest collected by any Naga Chaitanya's film in three days. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "Telugu film #RaRandoiVedukaChuddam - USA: Thu pre $ 67,275, Fri $ 92,423, Sat $ 115,129, Sun $ 94,845. Total: $ 369,672 [₹ 2.39 cr] @Rentrak."
On other hand, Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's biopic, which was also released in over 100 screens in the country, received good response from the audience and made decent collection on the following days. Sachin: A Billion Dreams has collected $292,874 (Rs. 1.89 crore) at the US box office in the first weekend.
