Television actor Raqesh Vashisth will reportedly replace Karan Singh Grover as the male lead of "Qubool Hai."
Raqesh has starred in telly serials like "Honge Judaa Na Hum" and "Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak?" Presently, the actor and his wife Riddhi Dogra are one of the participating pairs in celebrity dance show, "Nach Baliye 6."
"I just had a call from the production house three - four days back about the offer. I was hoping I will be offered a new character on the show and not be stepping into Karan's shoes. However...I came to know that I'd be playing Asad's (Grover's) role after my Ahmedabad trip," an elated Raqesh told the Times of India.
The actor will replace Grover who has so far been the face of Zee TV's "Qubool Hai". Grover was sacked for his unprofessional behaviour as the show makers felt his lackadaisical attitude was affecting the show.
"No actor can hold shoots or dictate their terms and conditions to an extent that it hampers the show," Ajay Bhalwankar, the Content Head of Zee TV had told PTI. He also informed that the channel has initiated legal actions against Grover.
Incidentally Raqesh is said to be a friend of Grover's, but insists that the latter has no issues with him taking up the role.
As per reports, apart from Raqesh, several leading actors like Gurmeet Choudhary, Barun Sobti, Mishal Raheja and Kushal Tandon were proposed for Asad's role in "Qubool Hai."
