Taking pride in alleged girlfriend Deepika Padukone's stand on the 'cleavage row', Ranveer Singh has said that the matter shouldn't be dragged further.
After lashing out at a leading daily for posting a video with headline "OMG: Deepika Padukone's cleavage show", the actress had written an open letter further elaborating her stand on the matter.
Retaliating to it, the leading daily published their point of view, in which it called the actress a 'hypocrite' and labeled her take on the matter as a 'publicity stunt'.
Urging people to focus on 'special' friend Padukone's films, the energetic actor told Bollywood Life that he was happy to witness the kind of support the actress has received ever since the Twitter outburst.
"I have a stand which I have already established on Twitter and after that Deepika has also put out a final word. I think the topic should be left at that, we should respect that," Singh said. " Somebody has put out a final word, but personally as a friend of Deepika's I am very proud that she stood up against something wrong. I also was very happy to see the sheer amount of support there was for her. I think we should just focus on her work which is the primary reason that there is this whole brouhaha."
Interestingly, this isn't the first time that Singh has lent his support to 'close' friend Padukone. He had earlier tweeted, "@deepikapadukone way to let 'em know! #LikeABoss @TOIEntertain TUM se yeh ummeed nahi thi #SMH #owned."
The gorgeous actress, who is busy promoting her next "Happy New Year" across the globe, reportedly said she would want to concentrate on her work and let everything else slide by. Padukone will next be seen in Imitiaz Ali's "Tamasha" opposite ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. She has also signed Shoojit Sircar's "Piku", in which she will apparently essay the role of Amitabh Bachchan's daughter.
