There's no doubt that Simmba (Simba) has become one of the biggest Bollywood hits of 2018 by earning Rs 139.03 crore in just 6 days from its release. And considering the immense response, it looks like director Rohit Shetty has already decided to making the sequel of Simmba where Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn will team up together in full-fledged roles.
"Though Simmba is based on Puri Jagannath's Telugu film Temper, there are scarcely any similarities between the original and the remake. Rohit Shetty has not designed Simmba as a one-off occurrence. Ranveer will be back as Simmba again. And this time, Ajay Devgn's Singham won't be a cameo like it is in Simmba. In the next Simmba film, Ranveer and Devgn will be fighting corrupt elements as a team," a source told Bollywood Hungama.
In Simmba, Akshay Kumar made a short appearance as Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) officer named Veer Suryavanshi before the credits started rolling up while Ajay Devgn made a thunderous entry in his Bajirao Singham avatar to save Simmba aka Ranveer Singh from the clutches of Sonu Sood and his goons. Both the entries received a monstrous roar from audience which were coupled with loud cheers and whistles in theatres.
"Just how far the Simmba saga goes, would it have legs as long as Singham, depends entirely on the magnitude of Simmba's success," the source further added.
During his recent interaction, Rohit Shetty had said that he will definitely be looking forward to Singham 2 where Ajay Devgn will make a comeback as Bajirao Singham.
It is also to be noted that Akshay Kumar will be seen in Rohit Shetty's upcoming film titled Suryavanshi which will be released in 2019. And as we all know how the director has mastered the art of teasing his audience giving subtle hints in his movies of his upcoming ventures, it is being said that Akshay's special appearance in Simmba is an introduction of his character which he will be playing in his upcoming film.
